DESCRIPTION
Diclazuril is a triazinone antiprotozoal that is effective for treating infections caused by Isospora spp., Toxoplasma gondii, and Eimeria spp. and has been used for treating coccidiosis. Diclazuril effect is on the asexual or sexual stages of coccidies blocks the excretion of oocysts inducing an interruption of the life cycle of the parasites.
INDICATIONS
VETKOZURIL 2.5% ORAL is effective in the prevention and treatment of coccidial infections in lambs caused by Eimeria crandallis or Eimeria ovinoidalis and in calves caused by Eimeria bovis or Eimeria zuernii. VETKOZURIL 2.5% ORAL is effective in the prevention and treatment of coccidial infections in poultry caused by Eimeria tenella, E. necatrix, E. acervulina, E. brunetti, E. mitis (mivati), and E. maxima. Because diclazuril is effective against E. maxima later in its life cycle, subclinical intestinal lesions may be present for a short time after infection. Diclazuril was shown to reduce lesion scores and improve performance and health of birds infected with Eimeria species.
CONTRA INDICATIONS
Do not use in layers producing eggs for human consumption.
SIDE EFFECTS
None.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
For oral administration via feed or drinking water. Shake well before use. It is advised to treat all animals of the herd at the same time.
Calves, lambs:
Treatment : 1 ml per 25 kg bodyweight in one single treatment.
Prevention : 1 ml per 25 kg bodyweight at about 4 – 6 weeks of age. Under conditions of high infection pressure, a second treatment may be indicated about 3 weeks after the first dose.
Rabbits : 0.002 ml of VETKOZURIL ORAL 2,5% Oral per kg bodyweight. This is equivalent to 0.05 mg diclazuril per kg bodyweight.
In feed: give 4 ml VETKOZURIL ORAL 2,5% Oral per 100 kg complete feed.
Poultry (broilers):
Week 1 : 30 ml per 1,000 liters of drinking water for 3 days.
Week 2 : 37 ml per 1,000 liters of drinking water for 3 days.
Week 3 : 44 ml per 1,000 liters of drinking water for 3 days.
Week 4 : 51 ml per 1,000 liters of drinking water for 3 days.
Week 5 : 58 ml per 1,000 liters of drinking water for 3 days.
Week 6 : 67 ml per 1,000 liters of drinking water for 3 days.
This is equivalent to 0,3 mg of diclazuril per kg bodyweight per day.
To prevent resistance do not use for a long period, try to rotate with other anti-coccidial products.
Mixed with feed, the product should be used immediately.
Medicated drinking water should be used within 24 hours.

Store in a dry and dark place between 8 °C and 25 °C.
