VETKOFLOR 30% ORAL
COMPOSITION
Contains per ml:
Florfenicol 300 mg
DESCRIPTION
Florfenicol has a broad-spectrum antibacterial activity that includes all organisms sensitive to florfenicol, gram-negative bacilli, gram-positive cocci, and other atypical bacteria such as mycoplasma. Florfenicol is highly lipophilic, which provides high enough concentrations to treat intracellular pathogens and cross some anatomic barriers. It acts by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis by binding to ribosomal subunits of susceptible bacteria. Florfenicol has been demonstrated to be active against Mannheimia (Pasteurella) haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, Haemophilus somnus, Enterobacter cloacae, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Salmonella typhi, and Shigella dysenteriae.
INDICATIONS
VETKOFLOR 30% ORAL is indicated for prevention and treatment of gastrointestinal and respiratory tract infections, caused by florfenicol sensitive micro-organisms such as Actinobaccillus spp., Pasteurella spp., Salmonella spp. and Streptococcus spp. in swine and poultry.
