COMPOSITION

DESCRIPTION

Oxytetracycline belongs to the group of tetracyclines and acts bacteriostatic against many Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria by inhibiting the protein synthesis for bacterial multiplication. It is effective against many Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria like Bordetella, Bacillus, Corynebacterium, Campylobacter, E. coli, Haemophilus, Pasteurella, Salmonella, Staphylococcus and Streptococcus spp. and Mycoplasma, Rickettsia and Chlamydia spp.

 

INDICATIONS

VETKO OXY 50% WSP is indicated for respiratory infections caused by Pasteurella multocida, Actinobacillus, Haemophilus, and Mycoplasmas and against gastrointestinal infections caused by Clostridium spp., Salmonella spp., E. col and Campylobacter spp. in calves, goats, sheep, poultry and swine.

 

CONTRA-INDICATIONS

Do not administer to animals with an impaired kidney and liver function. Do not administer to animals have hypersensitivity to tetracyclines. Do not administer to animals with an active microbial digestion

 

SIDE EFFECTS

Discoloration of teeth in young animals (calves, piglets, lambs).

 

INCOMPATIBILITY WITH OTHER DRUGS

Do not combine with other antibiotics like penicillins, quinolones and cycloserine.

 

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

For oral administration via feed or drinking water or milk replacer (calves, lambs, kids).

Poultry, pigs                        : 100 g per 200 liters of drinking water for 3 - 5 days

Calves, lambs, kids             : 1 g per 20 kg bodyweight daily, for 3 - 5 days.

Piglets                                   : 1 g per 20 kg bodyweight daily, for 3 - 5 days.

Mixed with feed, use the product immediately. Mixed with drinking water, use the product within 24 hours.

 

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD

Meat:

     Poultry                                                            : 6 days

     Calves, lambs, kids and pigs                       : 8 days

Eggs                                                                     : 5 days

 

STORAGE

Store in a dry and dark place between 8 °C and 25 °C.

Store in closed packing.

Keep away from children.

 

PACKING

Jar of 1,000 g (12 jars per box).
