DESCRIPTION
Flumequine is a synthetic fluoroquinolone antibiotic with bactericidal action against mainly Gram-negative bacteria such as Klebsiella spp., E. coli, Enterobacter cloacae, Proteus spp., Salmonella spp., Neisseria meningitides, Pasteurella multocida, Campylobacter spp. and Shigella spp.
INDICATIONS
VETKOQUIN 20% ORAL is indicated primarily for the treatment of gastrointestinal, respiratory and urinary tract infections caused by bacteria susceptible to flumequine such as E. coli, Pasteurella and Salmonella spp. in poultry. In calves, sheep and goats for treatment of respiratory infections caused by Pasteurella or Salmonella spp. and for treatment of intestinal infections caused by E. coli or Salmonella spp. In pigs for treatment of gastrointestinal infections caused by E. coli or Salmonella spp. and for treatment of respiratory infections caused by Pasteurella, Bordetella or Salmonella spp.
CONTRA-INDICATIONS
Do not administer to animals hypersensitive to flumequine. Do not administer to animals with a severe impaired liver or renal function. Do not use in animals with an active microbial digestion. Do not use in layers producing eggs for human consumption.
SIDE EFFECTS
Hypersensitivity reactions may occur.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
For oral administration via drinking water or milk replacer.
Poultry : 1,000 ml per 4,000 liters of drinking water for 3 - 5 days.
Calves, sheep, goats : 1 ml per 20 kg bodyweight daily for 3 - 5 days.
Pigs : 1 ml per 15 kg bodyweight for 3 - 5 days.
Mixed with drinking water use the product within 24 hours. Medicated milk replacer should be used within 24 hours.
Note: for pre-ruminant calves, lambs and kids only

Meat:
Poultry : 3 days
Calves, goats, sheep and pigs : 8 days
STORAGE
Store in a dry and dark place between 8 °C and 25 °C.
Store in closed packing.
Keep away from children.
